Roof Replacement at Belmore Community Centre Building 2
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the roof replacement project at Belmore Community Centre, Building 2. This extensive project involved the careful removal, replacement, and reinstatement of key roofing components to ensure long-term durability and performance.
Key Works Completed:
- Removal and Disposal: Safe removal and disposal of roof sheeting, insulation, safety wiring, capping, flashings, and associated items.
- Gutters and Downpipes: Retention of existing gutters and downpipes, with damaged sections identified and reported for replacement consideration.
- Height Safety System: Removal and reinstatement of the roof height safety system by a certified contractor, with full certification obtained upon completion.
- Structural Inspection: Inspection of the existing roof structure by a qualified structural engineer to assess its capacity for future solar panel installations. Strengthening works were quoted and approved by the Council before proceeding.
- Fixtures and Fittings: Removal, reinstatement, and commissioning of any fixtures and fittings impacted by the roofing works.
- New Roof Installation: Installation of new Colorbond roof sheeting (0.48mm BMT), matching the profile and colour of the existing roofs on Buildings 1 and 3, with a solar absorptance of 0.6.
- Thermal Insulation: Installation of thermal insulation blankets achieving an R-value of R4.1, enhancing energy efficiency without interfering with the roof design.
This project not only enhances the building’s structural integrity but also prepares it for future sustainable energy solutions, such as solar panel installations. We’re proud to have contributed to the continued improvement of this community space!
